I was put on the cancer pathway, but within a month I had been seen by a consultant gynaecologist, and had been given an ultra-sound scan. My GP was able to access the information from the MRI scan five days later. She reassured me that all was well and there was no sign of cancer.
I'd like to thank my GP - Dr Rhodes - the consultant gynaecologist Miss Harper and the ultrasound and MRI teams for their excellent care and kindness, and the speed for resolving this cancer scare. Shout out to Washingborough Surgery and Lincoln County Hospital!
There is one small way that my experience could have been improved, I received a telephone call to arrange the MRI scan at Lincoln County Hospital the next day. The member of staff who phoned did not adequately describe how to find the mobile MRI Scanner, which is behind two enormous mobile CT Scanners, which hide the MRI Scan building. They told me to go through physiotherapy or rheumatology. I ended up going around in circles and bothering the rheumatology staff, beginning to feel I was running out of time to get to my appointment on time.
I had asked on the phone how to find the MRI Scanner with more specific instructions, but the caller said they were phoning from Grantham and they couldn't help me.
"Directions could be a bit better"
