"Everyone who treated me was kind and respectful"

About: Dorset County Hospital / Accident and emergency Dorset County Hospital / General surgery South Western Ambulance Service NHS Foundation Trust / Emergency ambulance

(as the patient),

In the middle of the night I had to phone 111 as I was in very bad pain. Within 1 hour an ambulance arrived and the crew soon had me assessed, despite my lack of cooperation. I was taken to A&E and they continued to keep my pain under control whilst they tried to find what was causing the pain. The surgical team came and explained what was going on and had me booked for a CT scan before they operated.  After the scan I was taken to the operating theatre at 1700 hrs where I was greeted by the anaesthetist team. By 1900hrs I was taken to Abbotsbury Ward where I was well cared for until I was sent home the next day having had keyhole surgery.

Everyone who treated me was kind  & respectful, keeping me informed as they did their job very professionally . I would like to say a big thank you to all concerned from the Ambulance team to all the staff in the ward.

Good afternoon Tomo72,

Thank you so much for providing us with feedback on the recent service you received from us, it is much appreciated! We are so glad to hear that you were well looked after by the ambulance crew who attended you, though we are sorry that you had to experience this at all.

For confidentiality, your patient information is redacted on this platform and so we cannot find the details of your incident, we would love to pass your message onto the Ambulance crew who attended you and so, if you would be willing to share some additional information, please could you email compliments@swast.nhs.uk with your name, date the ambulance arrived, address and thank you message, we will then ensure this is passed onto to the relevant crew.

Thank you again for taking the time to feedback and we do hope you're recovering well!

Kindest regards,

Jamie
