"I was well kept in formed and under weekly observation"

About: South West Acute Hospital / Maternity care Western Health & Social Care Trust / Community Midwifery Services

(as a service user),

Firstly I would just like to say a massive THANK YOU to all the staff in the SWAH in the maternity ward and the community midwife’s in Omagh, yous are an absolute credit to your job.

First pregnancy and everything was going well, until 20+ weeks I was diagnosed with a DVT, didn’t have a clue that this could happen in pregnancy and it was a world wind from then. The care I received was next to none, I was well kept in formed and under weekly observation between consultants and scans.

I was a planned C-Section and was greeted with a smile from the lovely Ann on the morning of the Section. Ann is an angel, she talked both husband and I through everything what was going to happen and what to expect. I felt at such ease going to theatre and knew I was in good hands.

All the staff on the ward were so good to the three of us and I honestly can’t thank yous all enough for everything you have done for me, thank you again.

Special thank you to Cora, pauline and Rachel for all there care, support and attention ♥️

Dear OMA940

Congratulations on the birth of your baby.

Thank you for taking the time to write such lovely feedback. I am sorry to hear that you had a DVT during your pregnancy, but am glad that you felt well informed and were kept under close observation.

I have passed on your lovely words to the girls you have named but will share your feedback with the wider maternity team.

I wish you and your family the very best.

Kind Regards

Mairead McKenna
