I was really looked after by Tom and three lovely nurses while undergoing a hysteroscopy at Treliske RCH. This is a fairly straightforward but quite uncomfortable procedure and I was made to feel as at ease as possible. The team was very professional and kind.
One thing I would suggest adding to the info sheet is to bring spare knickers and trousers, as despite being given a large sanitary towel after the procedure I leaked through this within minutes and had to go home very wet. I also forgot to top up on my painkillers after the procedure, so the cramps hit me like a train before I'd got home.
While not a major procedure, there is an element of trauma for some people, so I think it can hit psychologically more than physically, at least for me it did. So I would advise people to be aware of this element and to be kind to yourselves post-procedure.
