"I missed a pivotal moment"

About: Tameside General Hospital / Maternity care

(as a relative),

Today was the 12 week scan for mine and my wife's first child so we got to the hospital with 20 minutes to spare to ensure that we had time to park up and find our way to where we needed to go. Only to find that there wasn't anywhere to park. 3 car parks (including a multi-story) all overfilled.

Had we been given prior warning about this we could have done something about it. Long story short I missed a pivotal moment in mine and my wife's life due to this and I'm absolutely beyond heartbroken.

This is something that I can never get back. The added sting of a staff member having a good old chuckle (presumably at my expense) and then leading me to the wrong room hardly helped my mood.
