"Surgery for bowel cancer"

About: Glasgow Royal Infirmary / General Surgery (wards 64, 65, 66,& 67) Glasgow Royal Infirmary / Pre-Operative Assessment Glasgow Royal Infirmary / Theatres, Recovery and Anaesthetics

(as a relative),

On behalf of my dad and our family, we would like to extend a massive thank you to Mr Mansouri and his team for the surgery and intervention for my dad’s recently diagnosed bowel cancer. We would also like to thank all the nursing staff in SHDU in GRI for their amazing care and attention they gave to my dad.

As a family, we were all anxious about my Dad’s procedure given his recent heart attack. But our anxieties were quickly put at ease with the excellent communication which goes as far back to pre-assessment, same day admissions, right through the theatre staff, and then on to SHDU. They kept my mum updated with my dad’s care and at no point did we feel uninformed.

As a nurse myself it’s not always easy to relax and switch off, however due to the excellent care my dad received I was able to relax and be there to support my dad.

Keep doing what you’re all doing! We will always be thankful for all you did! Thank you!

Dear SurgicalNurse,

Thank you very much for taking the time to provide feedback on Care Opinion.

We really appreciate the positive feedback regarding your Dad's care whilst an inpatient across surgical specialties in GRI.

I have shared your experience with Mr Mansouri and his team, Pre-operative Assessment and Same Day Admission Unit. They are delighted to hear that they were able to not only provide a high standard of care for your Dad, but also that they were able to put you and your families' minds at ease during his stay.

I hope your Dad is recovering well from his procedure.

Kind regards,

Erin
