GP referred my daughter for urgent x-ray as in severe pain constantly for last number of weeks. Seen by A&E in South West Acute Hospital 3 times and sent home same way she went in, crying and in pain, repeatedly being told it was constipation and take more Laxido! Refused to do a scan. GP referred directly to x-ray for urgent scan due to her ongoing condition as concerned no improvement and as we had booked a private consultant in Belfast for second opinion and we hoped to have scan to show him. GP thought I would be seen quickly but got letter in post following week with appointment for 2 week’s time. Too late for Consultant as very long time for urgent child x- ray. Looking into possibility of getting x-ray done sooner privately elsewhere if they won’t change it, which they probably won’t. Very upset in circumstances. Will speak to GP about this as we can’t wait another 2 weeks.
