"Amazing service"

About: Aberdeen Royal Infirmary / Cardiology / Coronary Care Unit Scottish Ambulance Service / Emergency Ambulance

(as the patient),

I suffered a Stemi heart attack recently. The paramedics who arrived at my home were absolutely fantastic (especially Ross) who comforted me and got me into a calm situation, explaining to me what was happening at all times. Managed to get my breathing regulated and relaxed me as much a possible with his very caring and empathetic manner.

When I arrived at hospital the crash team (Sumy, Lisa, Thirupathi, Dr Stewart, and registrar Sayed) took over and I can not thank them enough as they basically saved my life. They were so efficient and professional, it was amazing.  They all comforted me and advised what was happening at all times and assured me that all was okay.  I learned later that this amazing team had been working all day and were called out at night to attend to me.

The NHS receive some negative publicity at times, however when required under emergency situations they are totally amazing and deserve medals. They are quite literally life savers.

The after care I received also on ward 106 was also excellent with many doctors, nurses and support staff making me feel at ease and comfortable, ensuring I knew what was happening at all times. Sarah in particular went above and beyond to look after me.

I want to say a huge thank you to every single member, the people in the cardiac crash team and on the wards. You are all magnificent and do not get enough praise or appreciation for the life saving work you carry out as part of you daily routine. The NHS are lucky to have such dedicated and devoted people.

Dear Denver

Thank you for sharing your story.

It must have been a very worrying time so I am glad that you are delighted with the care you received.

If you would like me to trace the ambulance crew and pass on your thanks may I ask that you contact our Patient Experience Team at sas,feedback@nhs.scot with your name, Care \Opinion name and the address and date we attended.

I do hope you are recovering well.

Kindest regards

David

Dear Denver,

Thank you so much for sending such lovely feedback for our team in the Cardiac Cath lab and across the cardiology wards. I will be sure to share this with all of the teams as I know they really value hearing that the care they provided made a positive impact on our patients.

I really hope you are making a good recovery at home. Thank you again for taking the time to write to Care Opinion.

Take care

Catriona
