"Unable to get an appointment"

About: General practices in Lanarkshire

(as a service user),

Unable to get an appointment, even over the phone with a GP, despite the surgery being seemingly devoid of patients at any time of the day.

Have called every morning at opening time. GPs don’t appear to plan any follow-up and I have found reception staff unhelpful.  Have ended up needing to pay privately for a GP consultation.

What exactly is my National Insurance paying for? In my view, it’s thanks to surgeries like this that the NHS will become a thing of the past.

Thank you for sharing your experience of your GP surgery on Care Opinion.

I am sorry to hear of the trouble you are having in getting an appointment with your GP and that you have had to get a private appointment to be seen.

GP’s are independent contractors and are responsible for investigating and responding to any concerns a person may have about the service; they are not registered to respond directly to feedback through Care Opinion. Can I please invite you to contact the Practice Manager if you would like a direct response about the service. You can contact Primary Care Patient Affairs for advice with this as well.
