I tested positive for Covid-19 towards the end of 2020, before the vaccines were available. Didn't get it too bad, more like a bad flu, the following weeks I started to develop chest pains and a shortness of breath and no energy. The shortness of breath was quite bad and really effected my daily life.
I had to wait a long time before the NHS were convinced that I had a problem both physically and mentally, probably through no fault of their own as the medical people I was seeing had no experience of my symptoms.
I got numerous tests carried out, both cardic and respiratory, and all showing that basically there was nothing medically wrong with me.
I eventually had an appointment with a top respiratory consultant who went through in great detail all my symptoms, tests, scans etc and nothing showed anything medically wrong with me. The only conclusion we came up with was that my symptoms had developed from the effects of Covid.
I was then referred to the Post Covid clinic (after a further year) which I attended towards the end of 2023.
The clinic was made up of about of approximately 14 people all with similar if not worse symptoms than myself. It was a great experience to speak to other people regarding how they coped with the condition etc.
The clinic was run over a six week period going through physical exercises, breathing exercises and general discussions.
I can now confirm that after (dealing with post Covid for 3 years) a few months from attending the clinic I now feel like a new person, back to my normal self.
Many thanks to all the team that helped in any way.
