"Night staff in A&E"

About: Lincoln County Hospital / Accident and emergency

(as a service user),

Caring staff, nice food, attentive staff on the wards. Didn't like being moved wards at 3AM but needs must. When your obs are being taken sometimes you're not asked if you are okay if they take your blood pressure, they just come and do it which seemed a bit wrong.

A and E night shift staff were so rude to me, day staff were lovely though! A and E night staff lead nurse was very rude to my mother and partner and did not appreciate the fact that I had been sat in a wheelchair for 10 hours and then called me a fire risk and did not offer to help make my time in the department more comfortable. I was unable to move as I had stroke symptoms and the lead nurse in A and E just told me to get up and move.

Think they need more communication between day and night A and E staff as I was told many different pieces of information. From being next to get a bed (day staff) to being 4 people in front of me to get a bed (told 20 mins after by night staff) to other story changes.

I think A and E night staff need to be more cheerful. Night staff in A and E left me hours without pain relief despite asking many times and the doctor had prescribed it.
