"Phone appointment and opening times"

About: General Practices in Shetland

(as a service user),

I had a phone call from a GP which didn't ring as the number that they called from had been reported as suspected spam. I tried to phone the main switchboard to tell them what happened and to ask for the doc to phone me back, but was told that the main phone lines are closed between 12:00 and 14:00.

I believe these phone lines shouldn't be closed when doctors are making phone calls with patients, so that the patient can get back in touch ASAP to make an appointment that suits both you and the patient.

Dear Tammienorie,

I am sorry to read about the difficulties you have been experiencing trying to contact your GP, with regard particularly to a lack of accessibility and being able to make contact by phone during certain hours. If you would like to contact me directly, then I can try to help resolve this.

The best way to do this would be to email me via shet.feedbackandcomplaints@nhs.scot, or call 01595 720915.

Thank you

Katherine
