"Every single member of staff was absolutely amazing"

Had to phone the on-call midwife’s a little earlier than expected recently! As a first time mum, I had no idea what was going on but I knew it was different to a normal night.

From the phone call with the midwife to arriving at the unit at 6am to meet the on-call team, the experience was everything I hoped for and more! Every single member of staff was absolutely amazing, the care and support they had given to me (even when I was like a woman possessed) was second to none and they played a massive part in getting me through the toughest of times, I could not have done it without them.

At 11:11am I was blessed with my baby daughter and again the same standard of care and support that was given to me, my baby daughter, my fiancé and my mum never went unnoticed! During one of the toughest but most rewarding days of my life I could not have asked for a better experience, it was absolutely perfect, I will never be able to thank the midwives, healthcare support workers and every member of staff I came into contact with that day enough, the experience was so personal from the minute I walked through the doors of the unit.

The way I was made to feel will never be forgotten and I would recommend to anyone who has the opportunity to deliver at Inverclyde Maternity Unit to go for it!
