"Calming presence putting me instantly at ease"

About: Maternity care / Maternity Assessment Unit

(as a service user),

While 34 weeks pregnant, I was involved in an aggressive incident at my work place, resulting in abdominal pain and reduced movements.

I called my Community Maternity Unit based at Arbroath Infirmary who advised me to head straight to Triage, and they would call ahead to arrange for me to be seen.

I arrived, and after a very short wait of around 10 minutes, I was seen by midwife Sally. Sally was kind and compassionate, with a calming presence putting me instantly at ease. She explained every aspect of the assessment including what it was she was looking for and then reassuring that everything was okay.

After such a frightening experience, I could not have asked for a better experience at Maternity Triage.
