I was referred to Lincoln County hospital gynaecology department as I had cyst-like spots that weren't healing in my pubic area.
I was pleased that the doctor diagnosed a non-cancerous condition very quickly but not so pleased with the fat-shaming lecture afterwards. Luckily I've learnt over my many years not to get upset when a medical team member talks to me like I've never considered dieting. It has been a lifelong struggle of mine since I was put on my first diet, ironically in Lincoln St George's hospital at the age of 11.
Although I was pleased with the staff on the Hemswell Clinic today I found the doctor to be quite condescending. I'd had a week of worrying I was going to be diagnosed with cancer, and left relieved but frustrated. Being fat-shamed wasn't what I expected from a professional member of staff.
I will continue my lifelong mission to get thin. Apparently it will answer all my prayers.
