"Cancer treatment"

About: Lincoln County Hospital / Gynaecology Lincoln County Hospital / Oncology Lincoln County Hospital / pre-operative assessment

(as the patient),

I was diagnosed with womb cancer last July.

At every stage of my journey, from a total hysterectomy to 24 rounds of radiotherapy and now almost finishing 4 cycles of chemotherapy, I have had some of the best care, which has made my journey through cancer alot easier to go through.

Obviously I didn't know what to expect at the beginning and I was quite anxious but at every turn I had my fears alleviated and had any questions answered.

The cancer I had was very aggressive but fortunately it was contained within my womb. I also had 9 lymph nodes taken away and they were clear. So my treatment was to 'mop up' any cells that might have been lingering in my body - as it was an aggressive cancer - it could come back much worse.

I have 1 more cycle of chemotherapy at the end of this month.

It's been quite a long 'slog' but I'm grateful for a positive outcome and a future to look forward to.
