"Care and compassion made a hard time easier"

I was admitted to the gynaecology ward following a hysterectomy which also came with some additional complications.

The nursing staff, auxiliaries, cleaners and doctors were all lovely. The friendly nature of those looking after me helped bring down my stress levels and made me feel welcome, looked after and that I mattered.

Special mention to those who were assigned specifically to me, Carolyn, Audrey, Laura, Stephanie, Liz, Carol and Joanna. You all made my days brighter during some major lifestyle changes and answered the copious amount of questions I had daily. Sheena and Angela brought me tea to cheer me up and always had time for a chat. What was a really difficult time for me was made easier due to their care, compassion and warmth.

Thank you also to Dr Buck and Dr Ingyang for taking great care of me, taking time to explain difficult situations to me and ensuring I had the best treatment available. The surgery team were also extremely friendly, putting me at ease before major surgery.
