"They made my journey a whole lot easier"

About: South Ayrshire Home Care

(as a service user),

I was discharged from hospital after a lengthy admission of 19 months in Woodlands View, where I was diagnosed with FND. It was my first ever experience as an inpatient and coming home after that length of time was frightening as I live alone and my mobility was severely compromised.

However, the care I received at home was excellent and exceed all my expectations. The team assigned to me were brilliant and continually went above and beyond. The occupational therapy Julia and her assistant Scott visited me regularly put adaptions in place quickly and their understanding was amazing. They put me at ease and both were a constant support.

Julie was always there for me, nothing was a bother and her insight and knowledge was exemplary. Scott listened to me and allowed me to share my fear and concerns. I don't know how I can ever repay them, it feels thank you is not enough, that is what led me to sharing this story amongst other things.

They facilitated my carers, whom again were superb. I had a lot of carers on type of rota and they were all truly fabulous. I had a couple of regular carers whom were with me from start to finish. They were empathetic and supportive encouraging me to become independent and get back to living my life. Angela was my constant carer and she was the best I could have wished for and she was helpful, encouraging and approachable. She made me feel safe through her constant encouragement and support. I felt at ease with her all the time as I did with my evening carer Jordan. Nothing was a bother to her and she came into my home with a smile and always available for anything I required.

This is all important for anyone whom maybe be frightened and like me had never required help before as the whole journey was made easier by all of these individuals. They made my journey a whole lot easier with their professionalism and commitment to patient care and I am very grateful for all of them. Right down to the office manager Maggie, whose warmth and care was evident on ever telephone call I made.

Thanks you so much
