"Compassion, humour and tremendous levels of care"

About: Crosshouse Hospital / Trauma & orthopaedics

(as a relative),

My elderly sister recently spent over 2 weeks in Crosshouse hospital having a hemi-hip operation following a fall at home. Staff in wards 1D and 2A have provided wonderful care during her stay. The nursing staff have shown great compassion, humour and tremendous levels of care throughout this time.

We particularly appreciated the time spent in discussions with Nurse McCabe in preparation for her release from hospital. Her attention to detail in the preparation of a suitable care package was excellent. She took cognisance of each issue raised by the family and put in place the supports needed to ensure a safe return home.

Many thanks to all staff involved in her care.

Dear lupusbp39

Thank you so much for taking the time and trouble to share this lovely feedback with us via Care Opinion

I am delighted to hear that your sister received such kind, professional and compassionate care from our staff. This is a lovely example of the patient centered care that we strive to provide. It’s very often the small things that can make such a difference to our patients and their loved ones.

Our staff really appreciate receiving feedback from their patients and it will be my pleasure to share your kind comments with the wider Teams and in particular with Nurse McCabe who ensured a suitable care package was in place for your sister’s discharge form hospital.

Please accept my best wishes for your sister’s ongoing recovery and thank you once again for taking the time to acknowledge her care experience.

Kind regards

Pamela
