"The care and attention I received was second to none"

About: General Surgery / General Surgery (Ward 7 & 8) Ninewells Hospital / Accident & Emergency

(as the patient),

Recently I was rushed by ambulance to A & E, Ninewells where it transpired I had pancreatitis. I deteriorated rapidly with severe stomach pains and vomiting.

Despite their workload and demands, the A & E staff were excellent and quickly gave me pain relief. I was thereafter admitted to Ward 7 then Ward 8 during my 10 night stay.

The care and attention I received from all staff was second to none despite some of the demands placed on them by some other patients and visitors!  All staff remained professional and courteous throughout. Despite losing 2 stone in two weeks, due to the care and attention by everyone (the Health Care Assistants, Nurses, Doctors and Consultants), I managed to recover enough to get home and am awaiting a fast track date for the removal of my gall bladder.   

Fair to say I am even more in awe of NHS staff who do an outstanding job and I for one am most grateful for the care I was given.
