"This lovely team reassured me"

About: Causeway Hospital / Surgical 2

(as the patient),

Arrived in to Causeway Hospital for 7.30 this morning for my laparoscopic cholecystectomy. Treated in ward D, surgical 2. Staff were lovely on arrival and put me at ease. The student nurses were amazing.

Congratulations to both Ulster University and their mentors in Causeway and a special recognition of the professionalism and dedication of these three young student nurses - Courtney, Michelle and Jordan. They were so kind, caring and knowledgeable.

From the staff who met me and booked me in to the nurses who attended to me pre-op, the medical team of anaesthetists and consultants to the porter, theatre nurse, recovery nurse and my post-op care, everyone was so professional and caring.

This lovely team reassured me and kept me informed at all points.

Thankyou for taking the time to share your experience whilst an in patient in Surgical 2.

It was lovely to read that your time in hospital was so positive.

We as a team aim to ensure that all patients receive the highest of care that is achievable. Coming into Hospital for elective surgery can be so unsettling. I am delighted to read that you were greeted as soon as you arrived and were immediately put at ease.

I have a great team and we pride ourselves on delivering care as we would expect for our families. We regularly mentor students providing them with the knowledge and skills required to nurse in 2024.

I will share your kind words with my whole team including the students
