"Lack of bed meant staying in beside men"

About: University Hospital Monklands / Medical Assessment Unit

(as the patient),

I was admitted to medical assessment unit for IV antibiotics, and ended up staying 2 nights in it with several unwell men.

Got taken by porters to a ward upstairs, only to be brought back down right away as bed wasn’t available. Back in beside men.

Dear Nixcy,

Thank you for sharing your experience on Care Opinion of University Hospital Monklands, Medical Assessment Unit.

I am sorry to hear that you were frightened during your stay due to being kept in a ward with men. I am unsure about the specific reason this happened as it could depend on many factors such as the dates and wards, but could I ask that you contact our Patient Affairs team on the below details who will be able to investigate further and provide you with a personal response?

PatientAffairs.Monklands@lanarkshire.scot.nhs.uk

Tel no 01698 752300

I hope you are recovering well.

Kind Regards,

Jenni
