"Birth experience"

About: Borders General Hospital / Maternity care

(as a service user),

I had my baby a couple of months ago which resulted in a traumatic birth having to go to theatre and a blood transfusion.

The staff at the BGH were amazing and the level of care and attention the midwives, doctors and support staff gave was amazing. The doctors and midwives were briliant in the emergency situation and the midwives helped my boyfriend with our new baby while I was in theatre and looked out for him as well, reassuring him.

On recovery the midwives and midwifery assistants couldn't do enough for you. They were fantastic and I can't thank them enough.

Thank you mercurykk57 for taking the time to feed back to us.

I am so sorry to hear you had a traumatic birth resulting in a blood transfusion. Emergency situations are very scary for new parents. It is lovely to hear you both received the support you both required while you were in the hospital and your partner was supported with your new baby while you were in theatre.
I will be sure to share this with the staff - they will be delighted!

I hope you are settling into life as a new family and enjoying your baby!

Kind Regards

Claire
