"Not informed of MRI result"

About: University Hospital Hairmyres / Radiology University Hospital Monklands / Gastroenterology (Ward 10)

(as the patient),

Attended to University Hospital Wishaw A&E with chest and abdominal pain. Was then admitted to ward but sent home to return next day for ultrasound. Ultrasound result showed need for further investigation and MRI. I was then admitted to day surgery ward to await MRI. This was requested by the Dr. After my overnight ward stay I was informed MRI too busy and to go home, would be called back as out patient.

I continued to treat myself with pain relief at home whilst reassuring myself there was nothing to worry about. If there was a medical issue I would never have been discharged home.
Finally notified of MRI at Hairmyres just over a week later. Was informed the results within 14 days. So looking forward to get results to ease the mental stress and anxiety. 16 days later, no results. Telephoned radiology they informed me GP had results. Contacted my GP and they have no results.

Now a considerable number of weeks later, I attended my GP for anxiety attacks. Still no results. GP provided the details for the Dr at the hospital and to call Wishaw. Once home called Wishaw and informed this Dr was based at Monklands.

Phoned Monklands got through to the Dr's office but unable to leave message as machine full, goodbye.

Called again 2 days later, got secretary and was informed doctor at secondment at Wishaw and too busy to look at mail. She would get letter to me as soon as possible.

Still no letter and no results. Called yet again, was told the same, too busy story and I told secretary now very frustrated. Informed by secretary results there, letter to be sent to me within 2 days. I would be treated as priority and she would get doctor to dictate letter.

Today having spent last few days in bed with original abdominal pain, in desperation I write this opinion. I hope I have nothing seriously wrong but until I get MRI result the stress and anxiety is now extreme. 12 weeks still no results was told 2 weeks.
