"‘Not all superheroes wear capes’"

About: Scottish Ambulance Service / Emergency Ambulance University Hospital Monklands / Ambulatory Care University Hospital Monklands / Ear, Nose & Throat (Ward 9) University Hospital Wishaw / Emergency Department

(as a relative),

My dad had a serious accident at work, quite a nasty accident that left him with serious head/facial injuries.  The paramedics were amazing, they were calm and professional and helped to put my dad and me at ease despite the horrific injury he had. The staff in Wishaw a&e were also fantastic and had my dad’s condition stable before transferring him to Monklands for a specialist to stitch his ear back on.

The doctors and nurse in the ENT care were first class. The unit was so calming, the doctor explained everything to my dad and made sure he wasn’t in pain.  And now the ear that my dad thought was lost is now back where it should be and he is still under the watchful eye of the ENT doctor Gio at UHM. From the bottom of our hearts, thank you to you all.

‘Not all superheroes wear capes’. Xx

Dear redqw95,

thank you for sharing your experience on Care Opinion of University Hospital Wishaw, Emergency Department, and University Hospital Monklands, ENT.

I am so pleased to hear of the care that the teams took of your dad after his accident at work. It sounds very frightening! I am so glad the teams were able to reassure you with how thorough they were in ensuring he was stable before transferring him, and their clear and concise communication.

I will be sure to pass on your kind words and feedback to both teams involved in your dad's care and I am sure they will be delighted to hear these positive words.

I hope your dad continues to recover well.

Kind Regards,

Jenni
