I had previously been in ward 31 two months before I gave birth to my daughter due to having pneumonia.
I was admitted to ward 31 prior to my induction of labour. When I arrived, my lovely midwife Victoria explained the process and made sure I was comfortable and happy with the process.
Once I was in active labour, Bernie and Mandy looked after me before I was taken to labour ward. Both Bernie and Mandy were amazing keeping me calm, making me feel safe and talking me through my breathing techniques.
Once I was in labour ward, Loryane helped me through the final stages and delivered my daughter. I had a traumatic birth and Loryane took care of me.
Once I was back on ward 31, I was under Charmaine's care after my traumatic birth and receiving a blood transfusion. Charmaine was amazing.
Once discharged, I ended up back in hospital for surgery to remove retained placenta. When I was admitted again I was under Loryane's care which was nice for the familiar face, she was very attentive and made made me feel safe.
I can't sing the praises of the midwives enough. With such a fast paced environment and dealing with varied level of care for all their patients, they made me feel listened to, supported and provided the best possible care. In what was such a scary time for me I want to thank the Midwives and staff in labour ward and ward 31. I will be forever grateful.
"I want to thank the Midwives and staff"
