I was admitted to QEUH ward 56 as I had a stroke. I have been getting a lot of support from the speech and language therapist and they have been amazing. I feel this has helped my confidence so much. I know there is a long way to go but I don't feel alone.
The staff on the ward have been amazing in my rehab work. They have been making me feel like a human again and not just a patient. Staff are always cheery and put and smile on not just my face, but other patients' as well. The staff work so hard and I can see they do really care about their patients.
Sharon the charge nurse has even spoke with catering team to give me time to speak and not speak for me, and Sharon is always challenging new words which is really helping. As much as I would love to be home with my kids, the staff have made this feel like a second home. I can't thank them all enough for the care and support.
"I can't thank them all enough for the care and support."
