"Kept well informed, but some issues"

About: NHS 24 / NHS 24 (111 service) University Hospital Hairmyres / Emergency Department

(as a relative),

I attended Hairmyres Emergency Dept with my husband who was having a prolonged episode of SVT. I couldn’t access NHS 24 as it was busy for too long.

Went straight to the A&E where we were greeted by a very nice receptionist to clerk in , then seen by Staff nurse Caroline in triage , he was transferred to another area where he was attended by Dr’s Magdalena and Patterson for treatment.

We were kept well informed at each stage of his care whilst there, and thankfully discharged home in good health.

I have worked in the NHS myself for nearly 50 years and it still amazes me how well the system and different areas can function despite budget and  staffing issues.  I hope our thanks is conveyed to the department who were apparently working under great stress at the time of our attendance, and congratulate them on doing the best job out there !

Dear CatherineCG

Thank you for taking the time to give such lovely feedback following your husband's recent attendance to the ED. I can assure you that your comments will be shared with the wider team and those staff you have mentioned. They will be pleased to read that you were kept informed.

Working within the NHS, you are obviously well aware of the various pressures, and your feedback will be well received.

I hope that your husband has settled after this episode of SVT. Any prolonged episode of SVT requires promt edical attention as you will be aware.

Thank you agasin for your comments.

Kind regards

Lise
