I attended Hairmyres Emergency Dept with my husband who was having a prolonged episode of SVT. I couldn’t access NHS 24 as it was busy for too long.
Went straight to the A&E where we were greeted by a very nice receptionist to clerk in , then seen by Staff nurse Caroline in triage , he was transferred to another area where he was attended by Dr’s Magdalena and Patterson for treatment.
We were kept well informed at each stage of his care whilst there, and thankfully discharged home in good health.
I have worked in the NHS myself for nearly 50 years and it still amazes me how well the system and different areas can function despite budget and staffing issues. I hope our thanks is conveyed to the department who were apparently working under great stress at the time of our attendance, and congratulate them on doing the best job out there !
"Kept well informed, but some issues"
