"In good hands"

About: West Cornwall Hospital (Penzance) / Med 2 Ward

(as a relative),

My mother was admitted to Medical 2 at West Cornwall Hospital following a fall and for rehabilitation from the resulting surgery. She sadly passed away after a natural decline in her condition due to her age and frailty but the care she was given by most staff was second to none.

I was allowed to stay with my mother throughout the day towards the end, the staff supplied me with drinks and food and always made sure to check on how I was doing despite how busy they clearly all were. I never felt like my mother's care was rushed or just another task to complete and felt safe leaving my mother so I could rest.

From the moment she arrived and throughout her stay she was treated with kindness, compassion and dignity by all staff, however I would like to specially thank  Karenza, Emma & Jade who were working on the night my mother passed, for their care & patience as I know my mother wasn't always the easiest patient. My mother spoke fondly of the girl in green - Jade, who would always go the extra mile to make her laugh and ensure she was as comfortable as possible despite being busy and who provided me with calm reassurance and reminders to take care of myself too.

Karenza was everything a nurse should be, calm, kind and patient and Emma always brought my mothers mood up with her cheery disposition on night shifts. All of the staff work incredibly hard and despite the outcome I cannot thank them all enough.
