I had a hysteroscopy in Rochdale about 20 years ago. It was torture. The doctor refused to stop even though I begged him to.
When I was told late last year that I needed this again, I was terrified. This time it was done at Countess of Chester, and couldn’t have been more different.
I had gas and air, and a local anaesthetic and the staff promised me they would stop if it became painful. I tolerated this well and it was a very different experience.
