"System seems wrong "

About: Barnsley Hospital

Attended opthalmology dept with brother . Arrived at 10 am as requested and by 10.20 he had finished his eye test etc and had drops instilled to await doctor . Almost 2 hrs later after asking a nurse where we were in queue we were told the doctor didn’t need to see him and just to make an appt in 4 months . An almost 2 hr wait to be told this and we also know it happened to another lady who was very irate with the staff. Surely this cannot be accepted procedure can someone not check if seeing him is necessary from the results before they have a 2hr wait
