I had two aortic abdominal aneurysms grafted in Ninewells Hospital Dundee.
I received really good care with straight forward, clear communication on the procedure, any risks involved, recuperation period etc. Ward 27 from the domestics to the consultants did an excellent job, with commitment and good humour. All staff members were realistic in their approach and empathetic to my needs. Army Major in particular was always fairly upbeat albeit highly skilled and extremely knowledgeable about his craft, (think he was called Dave). Dr Beecham and other consultants were also extremely supportive, giving clear advice and instructions on how I should progress following the surgery.
I cannot fault the care I received whilst I was an in patient, or afterwards. Please convey my thanks to all personnel involved.
Theresa from Patient Relations in Fife also offered support in early stages. Theresa was very calm and reassuring given the levels of stress I was under so her input is also much appreciated.
