"Daughter's first time in hospital"

About: Royal Hospital for Children (Glasgow) / Acute Receiving Unit (Ward 2c)

(as a parent/guardian),

Me and my partner arrived at the RHU early Saturday afternoon after our daughter had contracted a urine infection We were seen by the CDU and moved up to ward 2C the same day. All the nurses were very professional and took amazing care of our daughter, one in particular, Racheal, made the experience so much easier by just taking time out of her presumably very busy shift to just speak to us and make us feel more at ease. Even when interacting with our little one, she comforted her. Her standard of care really stood out us and we couldn’t be more thankful to her, especially as first time parents.

Dear JRGCD,

Thank you for taking the time to leave us your feedback.

I am sorry to hear that your daughter was unwell and had to stay in hospital with us. I hope that she is now recovering well at home?

I am pleased to hear that you and your daughter felt so well looked after by all the staff especially Rachael, and I will make sure I share your feedback with Rachael and all the other staff in Ward 2C and CDU. It means such a lot to our staff to hear that they have made a difference to those who have been in our care and I am sure they will be delighted to read your lovely words.

Catriona Riddell

Lead Nurse - RHC
