Rang for appointment Monday late pm and gave all info re my illness to very pleasant and professional receptionist who told me I would receive a call or t xt from Dr that afternoon.

Half an hour later I got a text giving me an appointment next day at 9 am to assess me at the surgery.

On the Tuesday the Dr (sadly I do not recall her name as it was an unusual one/ saw me on time. She was very kind and listened to my explanation of my symptoms of the current coughing lurgy. She checked my pulse, temperature and chest and then prescribed me quite strong antibiotics, checking that I was not allergic to penicillin as we talked.

I was not rushed and felt genuinely cared for.

Whilst there I also asked her to check a recurring skin irritation on my neck which she did, taking photos that she said she would pass to a colleague specializing in dermatology.

Overall a really positive and efficient experience for which I am grateful.

We know things have to change and evolve in our NHS and the old days of always seeing your own Dr within a short space of time are missed but the process I have just experienced worked and I did not feel like just another number.
