"I felt she genuinely was invested in my care"

About: Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust - Queen's Medical Centre Campus / Gynaecology

(as a service user),

Recently suffered a miscarriage. The staff that dealt with me on the A23 ward whilst we were unsure what was happening were kind, honest, reassuring and genuinely cared.

In particular, Holly who was the specialist nurse who explained what was happening to me. I felt looked after by her, even when I rang during the night and spoke on the telephone to the ward she remembered who I was the next time I went in. I just felt she genuinely was invested in my care.

Her communication was clear, she explained the various things that could be happening and what I might experience in the days that followed. She left the door open and said I could call back for advice any time and that they were there to support me.

It was a horrible thing to go through but her and the gentle and compassionate two ladies that scanned me made it easier to deal with. They were just amazing.

Dear patient

Thank you for taking the time to submit this feedback of our service and to share your own patient experience. I’m so sorry to hear that you have been through such an incredibly difficult time. We are pleased to hear that you received the support and care that you needed.

Please be assured that I will send this feedback to the ward manager, the matron and of course Holly of ward A23 now. It will be incredibly appreciated.

Kindest regards and best wishes,

Kind regards
