I attended Hunter Health Centre for urgent tests, sent by Lanarkshire Medical Practice early January 2024.
Arriving at a health centre, which is not my usual health centre, I parked the car and went into the surgery.
Upon leaving the centre less than 20 minutes later, I had a parking ticket for (100 or £50 if paid within 14 days) There are no signs advising it is a pay and display car park within the street driving into the health centre or around any of the obvious places for signage.
I went back into the centre, and there are no signs within the waiting room or entrance saying the car park is pay and display, I was not told by reception staff either that the car park is pay and display.
I appealed the parking charge on this basis and told that it is my responsibility to ensure it was ok to park in the car park and that it is easy not to notice a sign by South Lanarkshire Council. Which would be fine if there were any signs. The signage on the entrance to the car park is NHS Lanarkshire and South Lanarkshire Council.
Very disappointing and expensive, when asked to attend a GP surgery for urgent blood tests that is not my own surgery.
