Having unexpectedly cut my thumb, I rang the 111 service to request an appointment at the Ilkeston Emergency Treatment Centre. I was given an appointment within the hour and was seen within a few minutes of arrival at the hospital.
The service provided by the nurses who saw me was excellent, they quickly dealt with all of my questions and concerns, I had my thumb cleaned and dressed and was ready to leave within 15 minutes.
It really does make such a big difference when people are kind and understanding to you in these circumstances, so I just wanted to say ‘thank you’ to everyone concerned for their professionalism and for looking after me.
I feel we are very fortunate to have this service available here in Ilkeston without having to travel to the A&E Departments at Nottingham or Derby.
