"No communication to patients whatsoever"

About: Dorset County Hospital / Accident and emergency

(as the patient),

Took myself to A&E Dorchester after falling and damaging my wrist. Upon arrival I was seen and taken to X-ray. Then given pain relief.

4 Hours in a nurse passing by could see I was in pain and asked for more pain relief for me.

6.5 hours later seen by a orthopaedic surgeon that couldn’t identify if I had done anything serious. Was told someone would splint or cast my wrist and an appointment would be sent for a fracture clinic appointment.

Splint applied and nurse/doctor left the room with no pain relief given to go home with. Was told this would happen. Was not told to leave but just left in the bay so took it upon myself to go home.

A big shout out to Nicci, the nurse that recognised I was in pain. Other than that I think it was a shambles in the A&E department with no communication to patients whatsoever.
