My Mum has MND, she receives all medications, water and food through the peg tube. Over the weekend the peg tube was leaking alot, we were concerned that she was not receiving her medication. We had spoken to the district nurses Paige and Una on Friday when the leakage was minimal they kindly ordered a supply of replacement y connectors. As time progressed over the weekend the leakage was much worse. I rang ward 6a in the Ulster to ask if they could provide with us with a y connector. I got speaking to Deputy Ward Sister Shiny and the dietician Aoife who went out of their way to help me. Aoife sourced a y connector contacted me and arranged for me to come to ward and collect it. I met Shiny on the ward and collected the connector. I just want to extend my sincere thanks to Shiny, Aoife and the district nurses who helped and supported us. Their kindness, compassion and care toward me and my Mum was outstanding. I was also delighted to have received a phone call from Aoife this morning to ask how my Mum was. I really mean this level of care and treatment has been exceptional. Thanks to Una district nurse Knockbracken for changing the connection and giving us peace of mind.
