"My treatment"

About: General practices in Forth Valley

(as the patient),

I had to get an urgent appt last week, I called at 8.30 and was 14 in the que and by 8.40 I had got through which was very impressive. The call handler was friendly, professional and listened to my concerns and then spoke with a clinician and offered me an appt at 9.30. On arrival reception staff were lovely, very friendly and approachable. The person I was seen by reassured me and arranged some tests. Very caring and professional, 1 week later my results were fine which was a relief. My only 1 small complaint was today, the doctor (didn't catch his name) who called me seemed like he wanted off the phone quick, I was trying to ask a question but he couldnt get off the phone quick enough, I couldnt get a word in as he just said 'thank you, goodbye before I could finish what I was saying so that was frustrating. I get they are very busy but I would always end a call with 'do you have any questions' atleast that gives the concerned patient an opportunity to speak. However my overall experience has been great as I had never been here before as only moved to the area 2.5yrs ago and never required medical help and going by reviews I was scared I wouldn't get any help however I was pleasantly surprised and can't thank the staff enough, they have went above and beyond and I appreciate them all.

Thank you for sharing your experience with us regarding your recent GP experience. It is unfortunate that after having such a good experience, in particular, contacting the practice and attending for advice and support, you feel let down by the telephone conversation with the GP.

We really appreciate your kind words regarding your experience with staff and I know they will be pleased to read your kind comments about going above and beyond.
