"The staff made what was a horrendous time in our lives so much more bearable"

About: Borders General Hospital / Stroke Unit

(as a relative),

My husband was admitted to ward 4 where we discovered that he had ineffective endocarditis and required open heart surgery, unfortunately a week later he had a stroke and was transferred to the royal in Edinburgh, where he had surgery for the stroke and heart problem.

He was then transferred back down to the stroke ward and that it where we were all looked after (family included) by all the wonderful staff in the stroke ward, especially Maggie who decorated the ward for the King's coronation.

The staff made what was a horrendous time in our lives so much more bearable and we can't be more grateful for the wonderful work all the staff do in the Borders General Hospital.

Thank you for sharing this feedback and we will share this with the rest of the team.

The feedback is greatly appreciated and we are glad to hear that your husband is recovering well. Glad to hear that you were both able to enjoy the Coronation despite being in the Stroke Unit.
