"Emergency surgery for stomach ulcer"

About: Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh at Little France / Accident & Emergency Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh at Little France / General Surgery

(as the patient),

Wife called 999 at the end of December, due to my stomach ulcer. Ambulance operator was very helpful and explained the ambulance would take 38mins to 1hour to arrive but it arrived a lot sooner.

Both paramedics (ladies) were very nice & couldn't do enough for me. I was taken to Edinburgh Royal Infirmary (Little France), we arrived at A&E department which was extremely busy, doctors & nurses run off their feet.

The care I received in the A&E department was really good. They did loads of tests etc, then one of the nurses went to get my wife from the waiting area so she could be with me. They kept us well informed on what was happening.

Later that evening I was taken down to theatre to have my procedure done then after being in recovery got moved to Ward 205. The nurses etc couldn't do enough for me, nothing was a bother to them. It made me feel relaxed & cared about.

I would like to thank everyone that helped me, I'm so grateful.
