"Care of vascular patients and amputees"

About: General practices in Tayside General Surgery / Vascular Surgery (Ward 12) Trauma & orthopaedics / Trauma/Orthopaedics (Ward 19)

(as a service user),

I had a heart attack in my sleep, which led to undiagnosed type 2 diabetes. Fast forward 8 years later I lost my partner to a sudden death at home, 18 months later, I lost both lower legs.

I can honestly say that Ward 12, Ward 19 and all the doctors, nurses, even the cleaning staff, were fantastic. The aftercare, the gym staff, everyone was in a class of their own. My own GP and their staff have also been so kind and supportive.

Am so proud of our NHS

Dear velaxd93

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback about all of the NHS Tayside services that have provided care for you in recent years. Feedback is very valuable to all areas of the NHS, however I'm sure the staff at your GP practice will be delighted to hear that your experience there has been positive and that you've found them supportive during the difficult times you've encountered over the years. As each GP Practice is an independent business, we would recommend that you feedback your experience about them, directly to the practice to allow this to be passed on to the staff. The Practice Manager can provide you with details of how to do this.

With best wishes

Victoria Sullivan

Thank you for taking the time to share such a positive experience with us. It sounds like you have had a really tough time in recent years. It is encouraging to hear that your care was of a standard that we all strive to achieve. I will be happy to share your post with the staff in ward 12 and ward 19 who I am sure will be delighted with the feedback. I wish you well with your ongoing rehabilitation
