About: Older People’s Services / Hospital at Home Northern Sector

(as a staff member posting for a carer/relative),

We found the service exceptional, staff were very committed to my mums care taking time to be gentle with mum while explaining what and why they were doing what they did.  

We lost our mum on this occasion but with dignity and love.  We felt involved but reassured all was being done to give her the chance of life.  The team were excellent.  A&E and hospital would have been horrible for mum who had dementia.  She died within 24 hours of the at home team withdrawing care.  As a family, we knew all that could be done had been and we could accept and let her go.

I am very sorry to hear of the passing of your dear Mother. I am sure it if a great loss to you and you miss her very much.

Thank you for taking the time to provide feedback during this very sad time for you.

To die in the comfort of your home, in your own bed with your own family is always best.

I am glad your Mother got to do this. This should give you comfort in the hard times ahead that you did the best you could with the services available to give your mum the best chance at life and a good death.

For any part Hospital at Home has played in making things a bit easier for you, I am very glad.
