I was referred by NHS 24 to Glasgow Royal hospital A&E department in January 2024. This was due to severe pains in my neck. Over the course of my treatment that day and night I was supported by many different staff at all levels. I would like to say thank you to them all. In particular to Nurse Kate in the Gatehouse section who assessed me first and checked with a consultant on whether further checks should be done. I would like to thank Nurse Kenny who provided the cannula and Consultant Don(?) who assessed and took further test measures.
I really appreciate how busy it was that day. I also appreciate being given a cubicle and bed and being transferred up to the medical ward as soon as possible. All the porter staff were great and used lovely humour to make the experience as comfortable as possible.
I also really wanted to thank the staff in ward 50 of the Jubilee wing for their transition support. In particular Nurse Kirsten, the lovely tall male nurse and the lady consultant. Their caring approach was brilliant and the consultant could not have been more interested and supportive in my condition. The male nurse made a lovely cup of tea!
I wanted to thank everyone as the pressures in both places were immense and I really do not know how they can keep up with the pressures and challenges. I am extremely grateful for the treatment I received.
