About: Paediatrics / Paediatric Assessment Unit

(as the patient),

I felt very scared and in a lot of pain. Once we got up to paediatrics I felt much more safe.

Nurse Paula did my obs and made me feel much more safer and made me feel happier. Then I got to meet doctor Gita and medical student Alice who were amazing,

I was very scared to have my bloods done but they were so nice to me and told me how brave I was.

Dear Brave Girl

My name is Dr Holly and I am one of the doctors that helps reply to the lovely stories our children, young people and their families kindly write about their stay with us on the Children's unit.

Thank you so much for sharing your story! I very much hope your pain is much better now and you are getting better quickly!

From reading your story your name 'Brave Girl' is very well deserved - I agree, having blood tests can be very frightening so well done for being so brave when you had them taken. It is wonderful to hear Dr Gita, Alice and Nurse Paula helped you feel safe and were able to comfort you so well during your stay with us. We are extremely lucky to have them on our team, always being so kind and caring to all our patients and families!

I have passed on your lovely story and kind thanks to Dr Gita, medical student Alice, Nurse Paula and all our doctors and nursed who work on the Children's unit - I know for certain it will make everyone smile and feel very happy!

What a lovely response! Thank you so much. Really was so lovely to have such happy, polite and caring people around us that day.

My daughter felt at such ease with everyone who was there, even said how lovely the young lady was who offered us some food. So thank you again!
