I recently went to Royal Preston Hospital due to extreme abdominal pain due to my endometriosis. After coming into A&E department the staff was lovely and helpful but the true heroes of the day was the Gynaecology and early pregnancy department.
They was understaffed and overran, extra because of the strikes, but with all their stress, patients, work load they made sure I was seen quickly and comfortably as could be.
I was seen by Brook who was the most caring, doting, reassuring professional, well person I have met. She really showed such professionalism and compassion, an outstanding example for how doctors/nurses are.
The Radiographer completing my scan was so friendly and supportive, making sure they got best care I could get.
Overall the whole Gynaecology team was outstanding, making my painful experience easier to bear and face.
"Professionalism and compassion"
