Paula from the Bideford team visited my Mum and I today to review and assess her situation. Mum - who is in her 90s - lives in a ground floor annex attached to our house. We are seeking help and support to enable Mum to stay living with us rather than entering into residential care.
Paula was brilliant with Mum - engaging in conversation, explaining the assessment process and offering invaluable advice. Paula was able to answer questions about topics that we had prepared in advance of the visit and also proactively raised a number of points herself. Her assistance included adjustments to some of the equipment that Mum already has as well as the prescribing of other aids that will make Mum more comfortable and safer.
This service is invaluable - there is a limit to how much self-help is of real help (especially when just equates to providing teams of reading material online) There is no substitute for talking to an experienced professional.
Mum and I feel very pleased with the help that has been provided.
"This service is invaluable"
