I had a sudden on-shot of pain after having emergency surgery for a ruptured ectopic pregnancy. Due to the location and severity of pain, I was terrified that I was having a bad reaction or complication from the surgery.
The nurse who attended to me was absolutely amazing and reassured me immediately that I was okay and explained what was happening. Who knew trapped wind could be so painful? She stayed with me after fetching everything I needed to make me feel better and even then, continued to check in on me throughout the day to ensure I was comfortable and feeling okay. I genuinely can’t thank her enough and I hope she reads this to know how grateful I am for looking after me so well, throughout her shift!
I also wish to take this opportunity to thank everyone who attended to me during my stay. From the initial team at A and E, to the gynaecologists and team who diagnosed and then operated on me, and finally all the ward staff, I’m very thankful for your quick actions and care. You were all very attentive and sensitive to my situation and at the same time, very assuring and confident that you would get me home to my family ; something I very much had to hear at the time.
Keep doing a brilliant job - you’re all amazing!
